Terrace teselations

Tessellation is the filling of a floor or other plane with one or more geometric shapes without overlapping and without gaps, or by using individual elements of the same shape but different dimensions. One of the basic possibilities, but very little used, is the design of the surface from different dimensions of elements.

Terrazzo tiles are produced in basic standard dimensions. The most common dimensions are 300x300, 400x400 and 600x600mm. An area is mainly laid from tiles of the same size. The dimensions of the terrazzo tiles in the area can also be combined with a large number of options. One of the examples is the composition of the floor area from the dimensions of our tiles 600x600, 400x400 and 200x200mm in the attached photo.

This description of the construction of the floor surface can be easily carried out economically into practice and into life when building durable floors from natural material = through terrazzo tiles, various sizes, drawings, colors and shapes. There are a lot of possibilities.

One option is to use our hexagons and squares. Their combination can create a very interesting floor area with an unconventional solution, not only in color but also in shape. Some of the basic design options "white and black" are in the attached photos and the options in the area in the attached drawings. After laying the surface, we recommend to gently sand and impregnate the surface after highlighting the drawing, patterns and combinations, after grouting. You can see the "difference in the result" in the attached photos from the realization.

Everything else depends on the requirements of the investor and the design of the designer.

Use
Terrazzo tessellations are used to create non-traditional drawings and patterns on the floors in shops, administrative centers, department stores, entrance halls, social spaces, etc. There are many possibilities and the use depends on the design of the architect or designer.

Hexagon

The hexagon is a terrazzo paving in the shape of a hexagon according to the attached drawing. The paving is two-layered, where the upper visible surface is formed by terrazzo crumb of various fractions and colors, with the possibility of coloring into the mass. The lower core layer is made of river gravel and Portland cement. Hexagons are produced in the format 300 - paving thickness 24 or 30 mm - or 400 mm - paving thickness 27 mm - see drawing. They can be produced in any terrazzo pattern from the basic offer or in a pattern according to the technical specification. If a laying plan is submitted, it is possible to prepare possible borders, finishing profiles or other terrazzo elements in the plant = window sills, stair claddins and wall strips.

Laying (instalation) is done in lines or in combination with squares - see. drawing and photo realization. Laying is done in a concrete bed or in an adhesive for heavy paving (paving is calibrated). For laying, we recommend a join between tiles with a width of 3 mm. After jointing the laid tiles, we recommend to gently sand and impregnate the surface to increase the effect. This gives the customer an absolutely flat, interesting and exclusive floor area.

Use
The mentioned terrazzo tiles can be laid in various interiors - business units, administrative areas, restaurants or other social spaces. For floor solutions, it is advisable to use a large number of color combinations.
